Marie Cruz A.K.A Snugz was born on June 18, 1988 in Manhattan NY. Ever since Snugz was a child she always had a connection with music. Growing up in a house with two uncles who were local Dj’s and a father who was apart of a local salsa group at the time forced her to have a liking to all kinds of music genre’s. Snugz grew up listening to everything from Frankie Lymon, Naughty By Nature, LL Cool J, and B.I.G. At the age of 12 she began writing rhymes in all of her classes in school. It wasn’t until the age of 17 when Snugz started taking her music seriously. Linking up with another local upcoming rapper she recorded her first featured song: “It’s Our Time” which was recorded over T.I’s “What You Know About That” beat. The two would go on to record another song and form a friendship. Snugz was featured in a few underground videos one that had landed in French Montana’s Cocaine City DVD ( Judgment Day Vol. 8). In 2007 She recorded her first solo track: “I Getz Down” which became a local favorite. The single was suppose to be released on her mixtape: Infamy 1o1 which was never released due to unfortunate circumstances. Snugz had taken a break from recording music for a while uncertain if this was the direction she wanted to move forward in. There were a lot of obstacles that were in her way but would soon be the ultimate push that was needed to help her become the artist she is today. In 2009 Snugz began recording and producing tracks for her first solo project: The Key To Hip Hop Vol. 1. Which was released in July 2010. The mixtape includes the smash hits: “I Aint Rich, Money Chaser, and “ Shawty Right Here” which were all produced and written by Snugz. Now at the age of 24 she is driven to be one of the best Hip Hop artist around and is striving for nothing less then the top.
